Jeff was born and raised in Syracuse. He moved to Orlando in 1985 and began his career in the service industry.

After nine years working in The French Pavilion at Disney’s EPCOT Center, he left to work For Giordano’s of Chicago. In 2002 he took a position with Carraba’s Italian Grill in Orlando. He moved back to Syracuse in 2003 to be the proprietor of the first Carrabba’s in New York. In 2013 he had an opportunity to open his own restaurant. In 2014 he was very grateful when he came across a nice uplifting Sativa…life goes on. His last position in his 40-year career in the restaurant industry was overseeing the service locations at the Syracuse airport. He now pinches himself every day because of how lucky he is being able to help people with the aide of an amazing plant. A plant that we have only scratched the surface of the great things it can do.
Meet Joe’s Buds Founder, Joseph Simons
My favorite job ever was selling marijuana. I did it in high school and a little bit after until I got arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and some other related crimes. And that led me down to a path of becoming a defense attorney, because I felt like nobody should be prosecuted for marijuana and no one’s freedom should be taken away. In fact, even hard drugs for non-violent drug offenders I felt like treatment should really be the option. So that led me to becoming a defense attorney even though I never thought I’d be a defense attorney.
I was a high school dropout, I was in a rock band, and thought I wanted to make music my career. Being a defense attorney has been great: I’ve helped a lot of people, I’ve been in a lot of courts, and I’ve had a lot of success. But now I’ve come full circle and got back into the marijuana selling business with my new venture Joe’s Buds. Since our opening in May 2024, we’ve met some great people, sold quality cannabis products at reasonable prices, and it’s been great. Hope to see you soon!
